Combines a circular polarizing filter and variable neutral density filter into one. Creating an essential tool for landscape photographers.
Circular Polarizing (CPL)
The circular polarizing filter; feature helps reduce reflections and glare. Filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a nonmetallic surface.
The light from the sun becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze.
A polarizing filter arranges and filters directionally polarized light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light.
This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from nonmetallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.
Variable Natural Density (VND) 5-stops
The variable neutral density filter component provides an adjustable light reduction of 1 to 5 stops. Darkening the entire image evenly, allowing a photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than usually required. Slowing the exposure time conveys blurred movement easily, creating a dynamic look for streams, waterfalls, landscapes, and more, while increasing the aperture provides finer control of depth of field.
Not only can the filters reduce the amount of light entering the lens, but it can also darken skies and manage reflections at the same time.
With the multi-layer coating, it only allows 0.4% light transmittance to get through.
Make is from completed professional optical glasses.
The lens is waterproof and scratch-resistant thanks to its multicoating features.
The filter frame is made of aluminum alloy.
Enables slow shutter speeds to be used to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, providing a silky-smooth affect to flowing water.
The serrated design of the frame makes it easy to install.
